In "Curious George: Too many files, can't burn a DVD."

...or DVD.

How about using something like EasyISO to create a .iso file, then burning it to CD?

In "School held hostage for 2 hours by 30 inch burrito"

This case is a wrap.

In "Potential terrorists?"

These tiny webfooted little bastards cannot be trusted. So true.

In "The Space Race is ON!!!"

carfilhiot, that's what I thought at first too, but this is different. It's an annual competition. From the link: "Awarding the $10,000,000 ANSARI XPRIZE is not the end, but the beginning of an annual event called the X PRIZE CUP." There's a list of competition categories near the bottom of the page. I was hoping for something like the Gumball 3000, but with spaceships. This is still cool though. Thanks sexyrobot!

Turgid.

In "Get ready for two of the strangest hours in the history of space exploration."

Man I hope the landing goes smoothly. This is just so cool. Pictures and sounds from another world? Thinking about it makes me all tingly inside.

In "Hey, scrubber!"

Excess body hair? That's a wee bit picky, IMHO. That depends on your definition of "excess". Bushy eyebrows? Not so bad. A tuft of chest hair? Pretty normal. But sometimes that island of manliness on your chest expands and connects with emerging continents in other hemispheres to produce a full body hair pangaea. Christ, I now have noticeable hair growing out of my nose...the outside of my nose. Ugh. And I foresee it all turning grey someday. Oh well, at least I'm not these guys (although they still have their pride).

When you insert a CD, can you hear it spinning, or does the drive do nothing? If the disc spins, maybe there is a problem with the lens or laser that is preventing the drive from reading the disc. Maybe the drive needs to be cleaned? And stripe is right...sometimes drives just die. The DVD drive in my XBOX stopped reading discs a few weeks ago. I think the laser is toast. And I just bought Halo2. *sniff*

In "Curious George : or more like Help me please George :"

Please provide some specs on your PC (OS, RAM, CPU, etc). Had you installed any software or OS updates just before the problem started? You might want to check for updates to your video driver, and if you normally run Windows with a high screen resolution, try dropping it to 800x600 before playing a DVD.

...or see Enabling DMA on Windows 2000, XP

Is DMA enabled for your DVD drive? For some reason, the setting would disable itself on my PC once in a while, and my DVD playback would slow to a crawl. If you need instructions, scroll about three-quarters of the way down this page to the Troubleshooting section.

moneyjane...hello to another Vancouverite! I met a few celebs when I worked at a hotel here a few years ago. For some reason, the most memorable experience was Dom Deluise telling me I was a "nice looking young man". Heh, it made my day.

In "TV Ad Trivia Quiz. 10 questions."

Bleh, only got 6. Shameful. Speaking of TV commercials...in a recent ad for Trivial Pursuit 90's Edition, a bunch of 90's celebrities (Kato Kaelin, Dustin Diamond, Traci Bingham, etc.) climb out of a time capsule. I recognize them all except for the old lady in the nightgown. Does anyone know who she is? It's driving me mad.
